India’s first swine flu vaccine

The reports which were set in motion in regard with the release of H1N1 vaccine saw the dispatch of first unit of this indigenous vaccine.
This indigenous vaccine was manufactured by a Pune based pharmaceutical company Serum Institute of India.
And serves as an alternative to the painful injection at the same time can be taken at all age levels the exception being pregnant women.
This vaccine that comes with a price tag of Rs. 150, serves the purpose of a safe and effective drug that might have light side effect like bout of sneezing and running nose, claims the team of scientists.
Further confirming the reports, Adar Poonawala, SII’s executive director said, “Our nasal mist vaccine is now ready. We will apply for licensure next week.”
She further stated that comes with low or no side-effects which are synonymous to injectible vaccines like fever, swelling or convulsions.
